Cooked my first meal from our own eggs, they look and taste so much better than supermarket eggs. Yay happy chickens! Our spinach got out of control so I made a yummy spanakopita. and I pulled apart some more pallets to make a planter box for my parent’s christmas. Under the bricks the previous owner of the house laid concrete reinforced with any type of scrap metal he could find, old bikes, wire, anything! Dylan had the joy of spashing the concrete up so we could have a new bed. I had a cold so all I could do is watch ;).
THESIS IS OVER!
It’s been so long! I’m afraid thesis got in the way but now it’s over! Hooray! Now I have my degree in my hot little hand. Oh oh, the real world beckons.
Now because I have been so slack posting in my darling blog I’m going have to kick my ass into gear and attempt to post in this guy everyday for the rest of the week on second thought perhaps once a week is a little more realistic for a lazybones like me. 😉

THE BEAUTY IN A BROCCOLI – OCTOBER IN THE GARDEN
The dogs have been helping in the garden, but alas they seem to have no interest in reducing the snail population and we have had to resort to beer traps. Luckily the slimy fellows don’t seem to be too picky and are happy with the cheap stuff.
A HOME FOR SOME FEATHERED FOLK
Three haughty Isa Browns now call our garden their home, Beven calls them ‘Tasty’ ‘Chicken’ and ‘Nuggets’… I do not. Dylan went all out on their weathboard chook tractor – the perfect size to fit over our veggie beds (when those guys aren’t causing mischief free ranging!). These happy hens christened the tractor almost immediately with this lovely brown egg.
