Could winter finally be over?
KING OF THE TOPSOIL MOUNTAIN
A quiet weekend down the coast that included a lot of moving boxes across muddy planks. Broad beans and mustard are growing on the salvaged topsoil, of course Gracie claimed her rightful place as king of the mountain. Dylan practiced making tea on his special wood burning camping stove so as to avoid humiliation in front of his camping buddies.
I WELCOME THE WOMBAT
Visited Trentham on the weekend and a quirkier little town you could not imagine. The resident animal sculptor had been busy and giraffes peered over fences and roosters perched on roofs, a trio of wombats were frozen mid chase on the roof of the antique store and a monkey greeted you at the entry. Walking into the bush we discovered an old racetrack, the perfect place for woodland fairies to dart in and out of shadows, or maybe just the local hoodlums to set fire to old cars.
SILHOUETTES OF QUINCE
We went for a walk along the Merri Creek as part of our PDC. It’s amazing that Ceres has its market garden along the bank and hasn’t had every last stalk plucked under the cover of darkness. A few things have vanished, but their policy of if you come and help harvest you can keep half what you pick has encouraged a community to build up there.
We visited the site which will be the subject of our final design exercise, it’s all rather exciting really.
